Yagel, Arvola receive scholarships

The Grand Lodge of Indiana Scholarship Board distributes earnings from an endowment, making it one the largest fraternal scholarship funds in the country. In the years of its operation over six million dollars in scholarships have helped over 6, 000 Hoosier students realize their educational goals. Children, stepchildren of Master Masons, and Master Masons, who demonstrate academic merit, financial need and community participation may apply for scholarships if they are attending an Indiana College or University.

Brittney and Dustin’s scholarships were two of 293 selected from almost 400 applicants. Brittney was sponsored by her father Jess Yagel, who is a member of Columbia City Lodge # 189 F&AM. Dustin who is a Master Mason and a member of Columbia City Lodge #189 was sponsored by his uncle Alan VanHouten also a member of Columbia City Lodge #189.

Brittney plans to apply her Masonic Scholarship towards her second year at Manchester College in North Manchester.

Dustin plans to apply his Masonic Scholarship towards his second year at Trine University in Angola.
