After appointing new members, the Board completed the yearly reorganization of positions and appointments. Cathy Petrie will continue her duties as School Board President, while Nick Uecker will serve as Vice President and Tanya Young as Secretary.
Interim Superintendent Ralph Bailey then recommended conducting one regular Board meeting per month rather than two. Bailey gathered input from surrounding districts of comparable size that hold one meeting per month and they all highly recommended the schedule. The Board approved conducting a regular meeting on the third Monday of each month at 7 p.m., with the opportunity to call a special meeting if needed.
The Board also approved their annual salary of $2,000. Tanya Young said that they are the lowest paid Board in the State of Indiana and she would like to eventually take a look at the salary amount for future Boards.
