He served with the U.S. Army Reserves, and since 1993 he had been employed as an electronics technician at Richard J. Bagan, Inc. in Columbia City.
He was a member of the Faith Lutheran Church in Churubusco, and the Roller Dome Speed Skating Team in Fort Wayne. In addition, he had a natural ability to install or repair most anything, and enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities.
The surviving relatives include his wife, Lori; a son, Riley Krueckeberg, a freshman at Carroll High School; his mother and stepfather, Joan and Donald Krueckeberg of Fort Wayne; a sister, Anne (Lenny) Duff of Fort Wayne; a grandmother, Helen Lair of Fort Wayne; his mother-in-law Bonnie Kimmel of Churubusco; seven nieces, four nephews, one great-niece; and his beloved dogs Ellie Mae and Kole.
He was preceded in death by his father William Krueckeberg; and by his father-in-law, William L. Kimmel.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 18, 2012, at the Sheets & Childs Funeral Home in Churubusco with Rev. Lane Burgland, pastor of Faith Lutheran Church, officiating.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2 to 8 p.m., or one hour prior to the service Thursday morning.
Interment with military honors will be in the Riverview Cemetery, south of Churubusco.
