The National FFA Environmental and Natural Resources contest took place October 24 – 27 at the 85th National FFA Convention in Indianapolis. This event focused on testing students’ problem solving and decision making skills in environmental and natural resources. These areas concentrate on soil profiles and analysis, water and air quality, waste management, environmental analysis, and the use of global positioning units. Teams also had to develop a plan dealing with a realistic environmental problem and present their proposal to a panel of judges. Each team competed at the local and state levels for the privilege of representing their home state at the National Convention & Expo. The National Silver Award team representing Indiana consisted of Churubusco FFA’s Colton Geiger, Jenna Uecker, Brett Uecker and Lukus Troyer.
