Family brings beautician and barbers back to Busco

Some folks may recognize the shop as the former Mirror Image salon owned by Ernie Pyle, Nancy’s father. He had the shop at the Pyle residence for 20 years before closing in 1990 to run his brother’s shop in Ligonier. Nancy said she grew up watching her dad cut hair and worked toward her license in 1995. Zach graduated from Barber School in 2005 and joined Nancy in her salon in Auburn.

After working as a Union Carpenter since 1996, Mark Young attended Barber School and graduated in 2009. He has been cutting hair in the evenings for the past three years while still working construction full-time. Now he will be a full-time barber.

The partitioned shop offers something for everyone-a two-chair barber shop on one side with a cozy, relaxed, cabin-like atmosphere made for patrons to come and enjoy the typical barber shop banter and a one-chair beauty salon on the other side, “where you can let yourself be you, get pampered and feel at home,” Nancy said.

The shop offers services for the entire family. Zach and Mark take walk-ins at the Barber Shop and offer $10 cuts, while Nancy accepts walk-ins and appointments (call 445-3303). She offers all typical salon services, with trims starting at $12. Hours of operation are Tuesday and Wednesday, 12 p.m.- 7 p.m., Thursday and Friday, 8 a.m.- 5 p.m. and Saturday, 8 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
