K&K Video improvements

Downtown Improvement

The facades of the Central Building and K&K Video, Books and Clothing are getting a facelift. Ken and Karan Hill, owners of both buildings, received a portion of the Main Street Churubusco grant for downtown improvements. “Ken and I would not have been able to do these improvements for a few years without this aid,” Karan Hill said. “It’s important to keep the downtown area looking clean, warm and welcoming to all who see it,” Hill added. “If you keep your downtown area going strong, it will help the whole community. We have been very fortunate to be a part of this community with our business for almost 15 years now. We truly appreciate this grant!” Local businesses may apply for a grant of up to $5000 and must match the funds awarded. The total grant money available was $25,000, though about half of the grant money has been awarded. Local businesses who are interested in applying for a matching grant should call Dave Pearson at (260) 750-6207. The grant money must be awarded before the end of 2012. (photo by crabill)
