On January 16, 1960 he married Barbara J. Buckles at Faith Baptist Church. Raised in Churubusco, he lived in Fort Wayne for one year. Since 1964, he and his wife have resided in Columbia City. A former employee of J.I. Case, Churubusco, he worked at International Harvester from 1960-2000. He was a certified Master Gardener and loved to play euchre.
Survivors include his wife, Barbara J. McCullough of Columbia City; three sons, Chad A. (Christina) McCullough of Woodbridge, VA; Craig A. (Angela) McCullough and Clay A. (Taren) McCullough both of Columbia City; two sisters, Virginia Bair of Ligonier and Ellen Crabill of Churubusco; brother, Thomas “Gene” (Judy) McCullough of Albion; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy McCullough and Max McCullough; two sisters, Geraldine Weeks and Betty Phillips.
Visitation will be held Saturday, October 6, 2012 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at DeMoney-Grimes Countryside Park Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City. Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 7, 2012 at the funeral home. Graveside military honors by the Whitley County Korean War Veterans Honor Guard and burial will follow at Stringtown Cemetery.
