2013 Historical Calendars

In need of a great Christmas gift idea or simply looking for a new calendar for the upcoming  year? Stop by the Library to pick up a 2013 Churubusco calendar created by Chuck Mathieu and Bob Allman.

The calendar features photos from around Churubusco. This year’s calendar specifically features images of the Blue Lake area and was created as a tribute to Willard Gilbert. Calendars are $5 each and proceeds go to the Churubusco Public Library and Churubusco History Center.

Toys for Tots

Once again, the Library will be collecting for Toys for Tots this holiday season. New unwrapped toys can be dropped off at the Library and placed under the Christmas tree until Monday, December 17. Then the toys will be distributed to children in need who may not otherwise receive gifts.

Adult Discussion Meeting

The Adult Discussion Group will be meeting Thursday, December 13 at 10 a.m. Join the group this month as they discuss favorite Christmas books. Group discussion is led by Board member, Harold Norman.

Grim Readers Meeting

The Grim Readers will be meeting Saturday, December 15 at 2 p.m. and will be discussing a book by Dustin Thomason. Refreshments will be available. This discussion is led by Board member, Shelly Becraft.

Dial-a-Story

Don’t forget to call 693-1585 this holiday season to listen to a number of great holiday stories over the phone. This is great for childen of all ages.

Turtle Town Treats

Turtle Town Treats is a wonderful cookbook full of delicious recipes from CPL Board and staff as well as a number of other community members. Cookbooks are still available at the Library. The price of each cookbook has now been lowered to just $8. In time for the holiday season, the Library is also offering a special deal, buy two cookbooks, get one free. All proceeds go to the Library.
