Churubusco led after the first quarter 21-15 and at the end of the first half 38-30 and then the second half started. The Churubusco Eagles were outscored 29-10 in the third quarter and 20-12 in the fourth quarter to end the game 79-60 Fremont.
“We came out in the third quarter without the same intensity,” explained Coach McBride. “We were slower to the ball and we didn’t rebound very well. We also had way too many turnovers in the third quarter. The third quarter was really our undoing that night. Something we still need to learn how to do is play with consistency throughout the entire game.”
The Eagles were led by Brent Simmons with 19 points. Also scoring for the Eagles were Blake Gross with 18, Cory Sarrazin and Hayden Kilgore with six points, Beau Barkley with four points, Luke Lillmars with three points, and TJ Campbell with two points.
“We need to keep working and hopefully, we can improve in that area and put four solid quarters together,” stated Coach McBride.
