“I felt that the girls competed better tonight after the first quarter,” said Coach Jamie Perlich. “We came out flat and played catch-up all night. They never quit and they played hard.”
Leading the Lady Eagles was Alyssa Anderson. Anderson had nine points, one offensive rebound, two defensive rebounds, one assist, one block, and one steal. Also helping the Lady Eagles were: Montana Martin with eight points, Alisha Farner and Olivia Huelsenbeck both with six points, Cassidy Perlich with four points, Brooke Yarnelle, Kristine Bechtold, and Chandler Blake with two points and Katie Monk with one point.
“We shot the ball extremely well in the second half,” explained Coach Perlich. “Too many turnovers once again. We need to make every possession count on offense.”
On Saturday night, the Lady Eagles traveled to Hamilton to face the Lady Marines. The Lady Eagles took control of the game and never looked back. The Lady Eagles led at the end of the first quarter 10-6. At the end of the second quarter, 16-10, at the end of the third quarter, 29-18 and won the game 45-29.
“We continued to build off our performance from Friday,” stated Coach Perlich. “We shot the ball well. We were able to knock down some open looks and make Hamilton play catch- up all night.”
Leading the Lady Eagles to a victory was Martin. Martin had 16 points with two assists, five offensive rebounds, one defensive rebound, one block, and two steals. Also helping the Lady Eagles were: Anderson with nine points, Monk with six, Perlich with five, Blake with three, and Jacey Keener, Shelby Brockman, and Huelsenbeck all with two points.
“Every girl contributed to this win for us,” said Coach Perlich. “This was a big confidence booster going into Conference Tournament this week. Our defense got back some of the intensity we had been missing for awhile.”
