Wrestling team plans camp for young grapplers

CHURUBUSCO — Churubusco’s wrestling team will host a camp for students from kindergarten through fifth grade.

“If you have never participated in wrestling, this camp is a great opportunity to get introduced to the sport,” said Chrubusco high school coach Sam Riesen.

Practices will be held after school March 13-16 until 4:45 p.m. at the high school.

The camp concludes March 17 with a takedown tournament starting at 4:30 p.m. in the high school gymnasium.

The cost is $25 for the first child and $10 for each additional child in a family. Each participant will receive a Churubusco Wrestling Camp T-shirt.

Payment and signup sheets are due to the elementary school office by Friday.

“We would love to see anyone who has tried the camp before, give it another go as we are innovating and changing it every year,” Riesen said.

Those with questions can contact Riesen at 273-0043 or email riesen.sam@sgcs.k12.in.us.
