The WLFHC provides basic free health care to those without insurance whose incomes do not exceed more than two times the poverty level. The Clinic does not duplicate services offered by other agencies. The Clinic is limited to care they can provide. The Clinic is unable to provide care for the following conditions: mental illness such as (depression, anxiety, behavioral issues, ADHD), OB/GYN services, STD’s and major medical issues. The Clinic is unable to give immunizations or do physicals. We are unable to assist with disability claims. No narcotic or anti-depressant medications are available either at the Clinic or by prescription.
The Clinic is staffed entirely by volunteers and financed by donations. No one receives any pay for their services. We give thanks for the generosity of our volunteers and contributors. Because of their efforts The Wolf Lake Free Health Clinic has had a huge impact on the community. Since November 2007 we have seen 656 patients. In the last year alone the volunteers have donated 1,135 plus hours.
Clinic days are the second and fourth Thursday of each month, with the exception of November and December when the Clinic is opened on the second and third Thursday due to Thanksgiving and Christmas. November 18, December 9 and December 16 the Clinic will be open. Hours are from 1 p.m. to 7 p.m. No appointments are taken. First come, first served (with the exception of acutely ill patients who will be given priority). The Clinic’s phone number has changed. Please call 564-1946 for any questions.
Currently a quilt designed by Jacque Clapham and machine quilted by Deb Beckner has been donated by Mrs. Clapham and is being raffled to raise money for the Clinic. The quilt is on display at Doc’s Do-It Best Hardware in Albion through the end of November. It will then be displayed at the Noble Township Fire Station during the Wolf Lake “Village Christmas” celebration on Friday, December 4 and Saturday, December 5. The station is located south of Wolf Lake on State Road 109. The drawing will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 5. Tickets can be purchased from any WLFHC board member, or from Roberta Elser, or Robin Urso. Tickets will be for sale at the fire station also.
For ticket information you can call Roberta at 636-2915 or contact Kay Luce at firstname.lastname@example.org.
