A poster contest is planned as part of the “Tax Day TEA Party” on Thursday, April 15, in Columbia City. Entrants who display their posters during the event will be judged on the basis of creativity and how they relate to either the original Boston Tea Party or the concept of taxation without representation.

A Whitley County Police officer was critically injured when his squad car crashed while he was responding to a call Saturday night. Sheriff’s Department Reserve Officer Adam D. Schrader, 30, was in critical condition after the crash, which happened at about 3 a.m.
Whitley County Domestic Violence Task Force was formed and starting meeting in October of 2009. Sherry Sausaman, RN at Parkview Whitley Hospital has joined with the alliance of Judy Strock, the victim advocate from the YWCA in Fort Wayne, to bring agencies and citizens together at the same table to create this task force.
