Whitley County Democrats host quadrennial reorganization meeting

COLUMBIA CITY — The Whitley County Democrats held their quadrennial reorganization meeting recently at Peabody Public Library in Columbia City.

Amanda Meier was again selected to chair the group, and Steven Hively was selected as vice chair. Karen Treat will serve another term as secretary, and Liz Deckard is treasurer.

The officers will serve four-year terms.

“Congratulations to our officers, and I look forward to working hard to continue the progress we have made,” Meier said. “I would like to thank all of our precinct chairs and volunteers for the support you have given to me and the Whitley County Democrats. I am honored and humbled for the opportunity to continue to serve as chair for the next four years.

“I also want to thank Mark Mynhier for his hard work as vice chair. We will miss him serving in that capacity. Although he did not run for re-election, he is still serving us as a precinct chair and as our elected Whitley County Surveyor,” Meier continued.

The Whitley County Democrats are working on several new projects, events and training opportunities.

“We have a great team of volunteers working hard to build a brighter future for Whitley County and our party, and I’m excited about the direction we are moving together,” said Chair Amanda Meier.
