Lacey Pulley

Volleyball ~ Lady Eagles win Conference opener

“Our passing got better in the last two sets,” stated Coach Trinda Goings. “We talked to our setters and told them that they need to be more consistent hitters and they need to be more available.”

Lacey Pulley led with 18 assists, 23 digs, three serving aces and one kill. Heather Monk had 14 kills and Danielle Pippenger added 11 more. Brooke Herendeen had 19 digs, 12 assists and four kills. Morgan Young added eight kills and 14 digs and a serving ace. Gabby Jones had 15 digs and two serving aces. Alisha Farner came off the bench and had four kills in the final set to help the Lady Eagles.

“We were trying to open up the outside and we did that,” explained Coach Goings. “So that helped open up the middle for us. You got to have a net presence and if you don’t have a net presence it will be a long night for your back row.”

The Lady Eagles will be at Fremont on Thursday but will return home on Tuesday to face Lakeland Christian Academy. Both games begin with the JV starting things off at 6 p.m.
