Volleyball – Lady Eagles pick up two wins

Leading the way for ‘Busco was senior Alexis Bankson. She led the Lady Eagles with  18 assists, three serving aces and seven kills. 

Taylor Amber had seven kills also and Taylor Henning added six. Danielle Hartmann led with 20 digs, followed by Henning (8) and Bankson (6).

The junior varsity came away with their second win, with scores of 25-15, 19-25 and 15-10.

At Bluffton on Thursday Churubusco posted a victory over the Tigers, 25-20, 25-17, 25-27 and 25-15.

Amber , Henning and Hannah Dodson led the way with 38 combined kills. Ashley Shelton and Amber both served up three aces apiece. 

The JV continued their winning ways collecting a two set win by scores of 25-8 and 25-16.

On Monday the Lady Eagles traveled to Monroe, and lost to a really good Adams Central team, by scores of 15-25, 20-25, 25-22 and 22-25. 

“This is the best we have competed against these guys. They are always tough down here,” commented Coach Bankson. “Tonight proves that we are getting better.”

Amber pounded 16 kills at the Jet defense. Bankson had 28 assists and three aces. Morgan Young had two blocks for the Lady Eagles. Hartmann led with 22 digs followed by Dodson with 11.

The Lady Eagles junior varsity dropped two to the Jets by scores of 7-25 and 19-25.

“I am real pleased with the Sophomores that we had throw in their positions, and we have three of them that are playing regularly,” stated Coach Bankson. “These three are doing better than I thought they would at this point, in the season.”
