The Churubusco attack was led by Chandler Blake who had 21 digs and a serving ace, Morgan Young added 16 digs, three blocks and four kills. Heather Monk had eight kills and a block, while Lacey Pulley had six assists and Brooke Herendeen added five assists.
On Thursday against Garrett the Lady Eagles were in every game but fell to the Railroaders 25-20, 25-18 and 25-19.
“We were in each one of the sets here tonight,” said Coach Goings. “Defensively it was probably one of the best games since I have been a coach here.”
Young led the way for the Lady Eagles with seven kills, six blocks and 18 digs. Monk had 12 kills, three digs, one block and one assist. Blake was all over the court adding 27 digs and six kills. Lacey Pulley had three serving aces, 16 assists and 17 digs. Herendeen added 10 assists and Gabby Jones had two serving aces.
“We feel fortunate to have the leaders we have in seniors Monk and Young,” commented Coach Trinda Goings. “We have a good mix of players and we look for improvement one day at a time.”
The Lady Eagles will be at Bluffton on Thursday and at Adams Central on Monday night.
