Volleyball ~ Lady Eagles lost tough away matches

The Lady Eagles were on the road this week. Last Tuesday they headed to Angola to face the Hornets. The Lady Eagles lost three matches in a row 7-25, 21-25, and 15-25. Leading the team was: Ashlie Shelton, Gabby Jones, and Chandler Blake all with one aces, Ashlie Shelton with four assists, Heather Monk with one block kill, Haleigh Gross and Chandler Voght both had three kills and Chandler Blake had 12 digs.
The Lady Eagles traveled to Canterbury Wednesday night. They lost in three matches 10-25, 19-25, and 13-25. Leading the team was: Gabby Jones with two aces, Lacey Pulley with nine assists and seven digs, Heather Monk with two blocks, and Chandler Voght with five kills.
Next the Lady Eagles traveled to Ligonier to face the West Noble Chargers on Thursday night. The Lady Eagles lost in three matches 22-25, 6-25, and 16-25. Leading the team was: Lacey Pulley with five assists, Nikki Sanders with three blocks, Morgan Young with 13 digs, and Heather Monk with one ace and six kills.
The Lady Eagles finally got a home game Monday night against the Westview Warriors. The Warriors beat the Lady Eagles in three matches. “Chandler Voght and Chandler Blake have been playing very solid for us with Blake in the back row for defense and Voght on offense,” stated Coach Trinda Goings. Leading the Lady Eagles were: Chandler Voght and Danielle Pippenger with seven kills, Ashlie Shelton with 12 assists, Gabby Jones with three aces, and Morgan Young with 15 digs. “Morgan Young has been a consistent passer and defender,” stated Coach Goings.
The Lady Eagles are back in action Thursday at home against Fairfield. JV starting time is 6:00 p.m. Saturday the Freshman girls travel to Lakeland for the Lakeland invite. Start time is 8:30 a.m. Monday the Lady Eagles travel to Heritage with a JV start time of 6:00 p.m. Tuesday the Lady Eagles with be at Carroll with a JV start time at 6:15 p.m. Then the NECC tournament starts on Thursday for the Lady Eagles.
