“It was a good year, given the cards we were dealt this year,” said Coach Mark Bankson. “Overall as a whole year it was a good season for us.”
Taylor Amber led the Lady Eagles with ten kills and Hannah Dodson added eight kills. Nikki Sanders and Amber each had a block. Alexis Bankson led with 22 assists. Danielle Hartmann had 26 digs followed by Ashlie Shelton and Amber with 14. Hartmann also led in serving aces with three and Shelton added two.
“The seniors are the class that I came through with. I’m as happy as I can be with them,” stated Coach Bankson. “We asked two of them to play positions that they haven’t played before this year and the other two have been my solid players, four year starters at setter and libero.”
Amber set the school record with 366 kills, Dodson was second with 207 and Bankson placed third with 169. Bankson led in serving aces with 80 followed by Taylor Henning’s 56 and Amber’s 45. Henning led the Lady Eagles in blocks with 32, Bankson was second with 22 and Amber added 18. Leading in digs was Hartmann with 657, second was Bankson with 377 and Amber in third with 340. Bankson had 709 assists averaging 6.4 per game.
The Lady Eagles ended the 2009 season with a 15-19 record and a 6-5 conference record.
