Violet Hamilton

Born in Pueblo, Colo., she moved to Anderson, Ind., where she waitressed at several local restaurants. In her later years, she moved to Fort Wayne to be closer to her family and was a member of Good Shepherd United Methodist Church.

She enjoyed horse racing and bingo. “She loved her family, especially her grandchildren and would always put everyone else first.”

She is survived by her daughter, Rose (James) Moya of Churubusco; grandchildren, Todd (Jenny) Kirk, Troy Kirk, Jamie (Nate) Delagrange, Mike (Rhonda) Moya, and Ward (Cindy) Moya; great-grandchildren, Sandy, Parker, Isabel, Jessie, Dylan, Jonathan, Adam, Jacob, Violet, and Vaughn; sisters, Helen Zupancic and Angie Keep; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sabatino and Rosie Porfilio; and brother, James Porfilio.

A Celebration of Life is 2 p.m. Saturday, December 11, 2010, at D. O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, with calling one hour prior.
