Gerald Vice

ST. JOHNS, Mich. — Gerald Lee Vice, 78 of St. Johns, Michigan, passed away on Saturday, September 23, 2017, in Escanaba, Michigan, while on a camping trip.

Gerald was born on July 29, 1939, in Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of Vernon C. and Coleta (Clark) Vice. He graduated from Albion Jefferson High School. Gerald worked in sales for all his life. He loved camping, playing cards, having coffee, collecting coins, playing golf and tinkering.

He is survived by his companion, Nancy L. Webster of St. Johns; sons Christopher (Susan) Vice of Avilla, Indiana, and Charles (Amy) Vice of Wawaka, Indiana; daughters Nancy (Ronald) Bailey of Franklin, Indiana, and Jennifer (Boone) Sible of Avilla, Indiana; grandchildren Meredith, Matthew, Cory (Ashley), Anthony (Anna), Alex (Heather) Vice, Alyssa (Daniel) Montgomery, Elizabeth Bailey, Amanda Krause, Darren and Bret Sible; 10 great-grandchildren; a brother, James Vice of Hernandez, Mississippi; and sisters Judith Forker and Joan (Ron) Smith, both of Fort Wayne.

He was preceded in death by a grandchild, Andrew; brothers Vernon and Jack; and brother-in-law Buzz Forker.

A celebration of Gerald’s life will be held at the UAW Hall, 117 W, Walker St., St. Johns, on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 1-4 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Clinton County Relay for Life. Arrangements by Keck-Coleman Funeral Home.

Torchia Fry

CHURUBUSCO — Torchia A. Fry, age 76, of Churubusco, passed away on September 26, 2017 at Parkview Regional Medical Center.

Born on August 6, 1941 in Kokomo, she was a daughter of Wayne and Naomi (Phillips) Byrd. She spent her formative years in Churubusco and attended Churubusco High School.

She retired from C & A Tools in Churubusco.

Torchia loved her family and enjoyed spending time with friends at Blue River Apartments.

Torchia is survived by two daughters, Kim Fry of Epping, New Hampshire, and Tina (Tim) Herendeen of Churubusco; a son, DG Fry of Churubusco; her identical twin sister, Georgia (James) Schenher of LaOtto; a brother, Bradley Byrd of Columbia City; two grandchildren and two step-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents.

Services were Monday at Churubusco Church of the Nazarene. Burial was in Riverview Cemetery, Allen County.
