The mission of Phil U is to provide a better understanding of the music performed by The Phil and the whole of the organization as Majors attend Phil U events throughout the season. These events include the Opening Night dinner and concert, as well as special events like Symphony 101 with Music Director, Andrew Constantine. Many Phil U events will include food and drink at downtown venues or at The Phil Center. The Phil hopes that the experience will encourage Majors to become ambassadors for The Phil as they share their newfound knowledge with family and friends.
The Phil is looking for young professionals who are interested in meeting new people, learning new things and being involved in the arts, without necessarily having a background in music, knowledge of classical music, or experience in attending arts events. “It’s a fantastic way to gain behind-the-scenes access to the orchestra and interact with a group of professionals who really love the arts and the community,” says Christy Sandmaier, Director of Development and Marketing.
