COLUMBIA CITY — Although it’s important to recognize employees throughout the year, Administrative Professionals Day provides a great opportunity for both businesses and nonprofits to show their appreciation and offer a special thank-you to their support staff for the many contributions they make on a daily basis.
To recognize these individuals and the many others whose support contributes to the greater good of the community, Whitley County Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center invites local businesses and nonprofits to celebrate and support volunteers and staff members who handle day-to-day office operations. The 2018 Thanks A Bunch Lunch will honor administrative assistants, personal assistants, volunteers and others with a great lunch, door prizes and more.
This year’s celebration will be held on Wednesday, April 25, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., at Ceruti’s at Eagle Glen Event Center. Sponsors include Preferred IT, Fort Wayne Metals, Nancy L. Zummack LLC Life-Cycle Celebrant and 1st Source Bank.
“The event is for any Whitley County business or nonprofit wanting to celebrate with their staff and/or volunteers,” said Jennifer Romano, executive director of the Whitley County Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center.
“It is often the behind-the-scenes work, handled by the administrative professionals, that makes a significant impact on an organization and their daily operations,” said Romano. “They maintain databases, are often the front-line at a company, secure office supplies, track meetings, coordinate schedules and make sure projects are on task and on budget. Their work allows a manager to focus on the running the actual business end of things. This is the one day when we can show them how much we appreciate all they do every day throughout the year.”
