All sessions will run from 8 a.m. – 10 a.m. on Saturdays in the middle school and elementary school. All sessions will take place on the following dates: November 6, 13 and 20 and Dec. 4 and 18, and January 8, 22 and 29 (total of eight sessions). Second and third grades will meet in the elementary gym and fourth and fifth grades meet in the middle school gym.
The cost is $45 and includes a reversible jersey and a Mad Ants Clinic along with a Mad Ants game ticket. Mad Ants Clinic and game will be on Sunday, December 12 at the Coliseum.
The format for the league is as follows: Second and third grade teams and fourth and fifth grade teams will be combined. There will be team fundamentals and practice from 8-8:40 a.m. Games will be played from 8:45-10 a.m. The games will be two 18 minute halves with a running clock. They will sub every six minutes using a sub schedule to ensure equal playing time each game.
The purpose of the league is to teach fundamentals and help develop the basketball skill of the kids at Busco.
The league is in need of volunteers to help coach. They would like to have two-three coaches for each team. Coaching clinic is Monday, November 1, in the high school from 8-8:30 p.m.
Each of the coaches will help to take turns officiating the games. Remember that they will be trying to teach the kids to play the game correctly.
Coaches need to display proper sportsmanship at all times, follow the fundamental instruction given by the Busco High School Staff, and be at the practices and games.
If you would like to help coach, contact Coach Jody Herendeen at (260) 402-6246 or email@example.com. Coach Herendeen will be the primary contact as he will be running the Busco Youth League Program.
