Braden Sherman, 13-years-old of rural Albion shot a 10 point buck Sunday, November 15, 2009 on his parents’ property on 100W outside of Merriam. He was on his way to his tree stand about 4:30 p.m. when he and his brother Brennan spotted the buck chasing a doe across the corn field. The deer headed for the woods but Braden’s quick decision to grunt at the deer turned it around, heading back towards him. He took the shot and killed the large buck. The buck weighed in at 170 pounds field dressed. The spread on the rack was 19 inches. Most men wait a life-time to kill a deer like this and Braden did it as a teenager. Braden is the son of Todd and Joyce Sherman.
