School Board recognized for achievement

The regional meetings, which acquaint board members and superintendents with ISBA’s adopted legislative program, will be conducted throughout the month of October, Exemplary, Master and Outstanding School Boards in the ISBA’s Certification Awards Program (CAP) were also given recognition. The CAP program recognizes individual board members and school boards for their voluntary participation in ISBA and other school board training activities. Smith-Green Board members, Cathy Petrie and Tanya Young, were recognized as Level 1 CAP awardees at the meeting.

Local board members and administrators attending were Cathy Petrie, Rick Trump, Nick Uecker, and Steve Darnell.

ISBA is a non-profit organization with 290 members, including every public school board in the state. ISBA member services include, but are not limited to, legislative services, legal and school financial advice, board member training seminars and dissemination of information on various topics such as collective bargaining.
