CECIL, OHIO — Roy E. Elkins, 72, of Cecil, Ohio, passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2009, at his home.
Born in Fort Wayne, he was a forklift operator with Dana Corporation for 30 years, retiring in 1994. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandpa and brother who enjoyed fishing, fly, lure and rod making.
He is survived by his wife, Marilyn Sue (Kendall) Elkins of Cecil; children, Patty Leslie, Tony Tucker and Flo Ann Vice, all of Fort Wayne, Patrick (Ruth) Elkins I of Cecil, Todd (Helen) Elkins Sr. of Montpelier, Ohio, and Rod Elkins Sr. of Fort Wayne; 17 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; and brothers, Bryce (Linda) Elkins Sr. of Columbia City and William (Marilyn Kay) Elkins Sr. of Tarpon Springs, Fla.; sisters, Mary McCoy of Antwerp, Ohio, Ruth (Butch) Miller of Hicksville, Ohio, Linny (Larry) Williams of Sherwood, Ohio, and Eva Elkins of Antwerp, Ohio. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse E. and Adalyne (Uhrick) Elkins; and stepfather, Delbert (Pops) Ruch; granddaughter, Nakita; three brothers, Norman and Jesse and twin brother.
