He was an employee of Dana Corporation for 38 years. He served two tours in the Vietnam War where he was awarded a purple heart and bronze star. He was a member of St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, Fort Wayne.
Surviving are two daughters, Michele DeLeon and Melissa Ables, both of Fort Wayne; wife, Tammy Kolash of Churubusco; three stepdaughters; five grandchildren; and brother, Donald (Jeri) Kolash of Sugarland, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Janie Kolash.
Memorial Mass is Friday at St. John The Baptist Catholic Church, 4500 Fairfield Ave., with calling one hour prior. Memorial calling is also from 5-9 p.m. Thursday at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road, Fort Wayne.
