FORT WAYNE — Pastor Ralph W. Easterhaus, 69, of Fort Wayne, passed away at 3:10 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 28, 2017, at his home.
Born on Dec. 24, 1947, in Moberly, Missouri, he was born to Harold and Daisy (Spellman) Easterhaus. He spent his formative years in Salisbury, Missouri, and graduated from St. Paul’s High School in Concordia, Missouri, in 1965. He graduated from St. Paul’s College in Concordia, Missouri, in 1967. He then graduated from Concordia Senior College in Fort Wayne, before graduating from Concordia Seminary in St. Louis, Missouri, in 1973.
Ralph was married on Aug. 16, 1969, in Crystal City, Missouri, to Beverly A. Oswald. The couple served in Lutheran churches in West Frankfort, Illinois, Herrin, Illinois, and Brookville, Indiana, before settling in Fort Wayne in 1992. He retired from St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lake Township, in 2014 after 40 years of service in the Lutheran Church.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Beverly Easterhaus of Fort Wayne; four children, Ryan (Danyele) Easterhaus of Westfield, Jon (Meaghan) Easterhaus of Menlo Park, California, Christin (Neal) Clark of Frankfort and Allison (Eric) Honeycutt of Campbellsville, Kentucky; a brother, Eldrid (Carol) Easterhaus of Columbia, Missouri; and nine grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
Visiting hours will take place at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lake Township, today from 1 to 3 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m. Calling also one hour prior to the service.
Services will begin at 11 a.m., at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Lake Township, on Thursday, Nov. 2, 2017, with Dean Pastor Pam Thorson and Pastor Rick Barns as officiants.
Burial will follow in Eel River Cemetery, Allen County.
