On Saturday, November 13, Churubusco Scouts participated in the annual “Scouting for Food” event. Scouts and adult leaders from Cub Scout Pack 3081 and Boy Scout Troop 81 participated by spending their Saturday morning going door-to-door collecting food donations to benefit local Churubusco food pantries. The weather cooperated this year, and the groups had an impressive turnout and collected a record amount of food donations for the annual event. “This year we collected a total of 402 bags of food which works out to over 2,000 food items,” said Rob Pope, Scoutmaster of Troop 81. The food was evenly distributed to the food pantries of Churubusco’s United Methodist Church and the St John’s Catholic Church.
