“Picasso Puzzle” made at Churubusco High School

This mosaic painting entitled, “Picasso Puzzle” was made in collaboration with Spanish IV and Advanced Art students through Project Based Learning, at Churubusco High School. The project involved the use of 21st Century skills including: Communication, Collaboration, and Problem-Solving. The Spanish IV students worked in groups to research Pablo Picasso’s life and contribution to art. Furthermore the Advanced Art students studied Picasso’s cubistic style of painting which they later demonstrated for the group. Each individual square depicts an aspect of Spanish culture and its influence on art and comes together to create an overall image of a painter’s palette. The mosaic will be donated to West Noble Elementary School in hopes of some students finding an understanding of their own culture and heritage within the artwork.
