Phyllis Barber

Phyllis was born on April 6, 1929 in Fort Wayne, the daughter of the late Phil and Martha (Brown) Barber. As a young girl she graduated from Central High School with the Class of 1947, and then worked for Lincoln Life and later at Mechanics Laundry for 25 years. She loved her volunteer work at the Fort Wayne Children’s Zoo; she started there in 1990 and ran the carousel for 10 years. She was also a former YMCA board member and former director of Y-Teens.

Her survivors include her two cousins, Elizabeth (Clark) Derbyshire of Fort Wayne and Kirk (Rebecca) Carrington of Albion, and nieces and nephews and a great many friends.
