Peter Papagiannis

He was the owner of Pete’s Gateview Inn for 30 years and Pontiac Rib Bar for seven years. He was a World War II Greek Army veteran; member of Southgate 731 F & AM Lodge, Scottish Rite Valley of Fort Wayne Mizpah Temple, American Legion Post 82 and 499, Tavern Owners Association, and Saint Nicholas Eastern Orthodox Church. He was a very patriotic American. He loved people and was an avid swimmer at American Legion Post 82 pool. He enjoyed Macedonian dancing, gardening, traveling, and spending time with his beloved children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Surviving are his wife, Stephanie P.; two sons, James P. (Patricia) of Churubusco and Gregory P. (Julie) of Indianapolis; a daughter, Elizabeth Papagiannis-Roth of Fort Wayne; one brother, Gabriel of Greece; five grandchildren, Jimmy (Jodi) Papagiannis, Katie Papagiannis, Andy (Debbie Didien) Papagiannis, Stephanie (Kris) Kleinbub, and Susan Roth; three great-grandchildren, Cora and Carter Papagiannis, and Max Kleinbub.

Service is 11 a.m. Monday at St. Nicholas Eastern Orthodox Church, 3535 Crescent Avenue, with calling one hour prior. Calling also from 2-5 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at D. O. McComb & Sons Pine Valley Park Funeral Home, 1320 East Dupont Road, with Trisagion prayer at 8:30 p.m.
