Parkview Whitley looks at mock rooms

PWH ER physicians, nurses and staff got a first look at mock patient rooms.
Parkview Whitley Hospital ER physicians and nursing staff, as well as medical/surgery nursing staff, were allowed to take a critical look at mock rooms at the new hospital site in Columbia City on June 25.
An example of an ER trauma room and a second-story patient room were constructed to get a feel for where medical equipment, monitors, outlets, shelving, curtains, cabinets and other items will be located in the patient rooms. The physicians and nurses made recommendations based on their experience as caregivers who interact with patients daily.
Vintage Archonics, Inc., architect Lucas Konger took questions and suggestions from the staff members, who were allowed to reposition mock images of medical equipment on the walls of the patient rooms.
The new hospital is on schedule to open in the fall of 2011.
