Parkview to host several upcoming events

The programs below will be held at the Parkview Women’s Health Center on the Parkview North campus, entrance 2, 11123 Parkview Plaza Drive. Registration is required by calling (260) 672-6500. 

Ask the Dietitian 3:30-5 p.m. Wednesday, October 12. Schedule 15 minutes with registered dietitian Julia Just to have nutrition questions answered. The event is free. 

Foot Screenings with Dr. Michael McManus, Ortho NorthEast from 12 noon-1:30 p.m. Wednesday, October 19.

For people experiencing pain, difficulty walking, changes in foot structure, or any condition of the skin or nails. Free for Women’s Health Center members and $5 for non-members.

Learn to Love Your Skin 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 25.

Learn about non-invasive skin care techniques that can help enhance your skin’s glow. Simple tips on caring for all skin  types will be discussed. The event is free. Light refreshments will be served.

Healthy Relationships 6:30-8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 27.

Guest speaker Chynna Presley from the Fort Wayne YMCA will discuss what a healthy relationship looks like, how to determine if you’re entering a healthy relationship and what to do if you’re involved in an unhealthy relationship. Free for Women’s Health Center members and $5 for non-members.

The programs below will be held at the Parkview Comprehensive Cancer Center on the Parkview North campus, 11143 Parkview Plaza Drive, entrance 4. For more information on the free programs, call (260) 266-9166. 

Chemotherapy, Biotherapy & You 1-2 p.m. Thursday, October 6 and Thursday, October 20. Patients will learn how treatments work, potential benefits and side effects and self-care measures to prevent and minimize side effects. 

Answers from a Cancer Expert 1-3 p.m. Tuesday, October 11 and Tuesday, October 25.

Patients and family members can receive easy-to-understand answers to questions in a one-on-one setting with a clinical nurse specialist.
