Today is also commemorative of another more recent event. In 1995, the Oklahoma city bombing occurred.
While this wasn’t our first attack against innocent people, it marked a change in how we all viewed our world. We started seeing the world in a new and different light — one that I’m sure many of us never believed was possible.
As we remember those sad days that followed, also remember it takes each of us to make a positive impact on our community and world. May we never forget what hate and fear can do — and how powerful love can really be, and what a difference it can make.
