CHEERS TO: Everyone involved for making Homecoming week a big success starting with: Rick and Connie Krider for supplying us with the park, tables, keeping us updated on things, even helping with the rain back-up plans. Egolf's for storing the chili. Mark and Bryan Bianski for cooking the chili, hot dogs and coming up with the tent last minute to keep the food dry. Roger Bennett and the Fire Dept. for escorting the football team back to the park on the fire trucks. Paul and Mindy Conrad and Todd Shively for the music. Mrs. Mast and Mrs. Lough for the PA system. Pelz for being our announcer and doing a great job at it as usual. Mrs Shearer, Mrs Karacia and the cheerleaders for the wonderful job they did with the skit and all the hard work and time put into the decorating of the school. Wayne Yager for supplying the wood for the bonfire that we couldn't have due to the rain, sorry! All the coaches for their hard work with the boys!!! AND finally, the community for coming back to the park to support the team and enjoy a great evening.
-The Football Moms
CHEERS AND A BIG THANKS TO: All those who took care of Derek during his football practice injury on Thursday. Extra thanks to coaches Adams and Harris, the athletic trainer, both Whitley County EMS crews and firemen who came to help, and his teammates for making sure his stuff was out of the barn and ready to go!
Also thanks to family and friends who’ve called and messaged to check and see how he was doing. We are blessed to live in such a close community.
-Matt, Heather, Marisa and Derek Noyes
CHEERS TO: The students from Smith-Green Community Schools for their part in planting spring bulbs on the library property and cleaning up the trash for the Whitley County United Day of Caring. It will be so much fun to watch the property in the spring to see all of the beautiful colors from this endeavor. A big thank you from the Library Board, Staff and Community for their efforts.
-Carol M. Scherer,
Library Director
CHEERS AND THANK YOU TO: All the students, staff and parents at CES for helping make the 2011 United Way Day of Caring such a huge success. Your help cleaning up the Busco park, school grounds, completing projects at the Churubusco Child Care and planting spring bulbs at the Churubusco Public Library was greatly appreciated. A special thank you to the high school students who helped chaperone and to Trisha Brooks (CHS teacher) for helping coordinate this project. It was great to see approximately 580 kids care enough to give back to the community!
-Mindi Conrad,
Day of Caring Board
CHEERS TO: Carol Scherer at the Churubusco Public Library and Beth Brown at the Churubusco Child Care for letting the students of CES help you tackle some projects for Day of Caring. Teaching kids to care and give back to the community is something that doesn’t come from a book … it comes from the heart! Thank you!
