CHEERS TO: The community for supporting the Destination ImagiNation Port-a-Pit Chicken fundraiser held last Friday in front of Sav-U-Mor. It was a huge success due to Sav-U-Mor store’s generosity on the location and some DI parents for organizing and running the event. Also for the DI team members going to Globals that came and helped run the fundraiser and donated brownies for the meal deal. We especially want to thank Shelly Lybarger, Amy and Kaylee Leeuw, Nikki King, Rachele Shambaugh, Rob Pope, Annette Beiber, and Kim Walker for helping organize and work this fundraiser. DI says thanks.

CHEERS TO: Boy Scouts Troop 81, Cub Scouts Pack 3081 and Crew 2081 for picking up food at residences in Churubusco for their recent Food Drive for CUMC Food Pantry. Also, thanks to the leaders, food donors and drivers. You are all to be commended for your efforts to help people who need food assistance.

CHEERS AND THANK YOU TO: A great bunch of caring Veterans and family, and the Churubusco VFW Post 3846. After hurting my back two weeks ago, my lawn work came to an end. A group of special caring members surprised me by coming down Sunday and cleaned up and mulched the whole two acres of lawn for me, with a great cook-out afterwards. AND THANKS TO: Pam and everyone who put this all together. AND A SPECIAL THANK YOU TO: Feders Meats at 16619 Lima Road in Huntertown for donating the best burger patties, brats and marinated chicken breast you have ever eaten. This all makes me proud to be a member of the best VFW Post anywhere.

CHEERS TO: The Green Township 4-H Club. On Palm Sunday afternoon, we were pleasantly surprised by a large group of children (three minivans full) from Green Center. They identified themselves and sang to us a joyus Easter song, and gave us a bouquet of flowers. When asked, they indicated they were not soliciting donations. They were just spreading goodwill into their community. We greatly appreciated their deed and their spirit.
