Northeast Indiana Rebels take first place in tournament

The Northeast Indiana Rebels took first place at the Columbia City Wahoo Shootout tournament July 9-11. After a slow start losing their three pool games they came back strong in tournament play winning four games on Sunday to win the championship game Sunday evening 5-4. The team is coached by Fred Richards and is comprised of girls from the surrounding area. Team members are (in front, left to right) Danielle Pippenger, Kelsie Peterson. The Rebels travel to Peoria, IL to compete in the NSA World Series July 25-31. The team is sponsored by American Legion Post 157, Brevin’s Downtown Eatery, Vinyl Designs and Miller’s Supermarket.
