Town plans special meeting

CHURUBUSCO — Churubusco’s Town Council will host a special meeting March 26 at 6:30 p.m. at the Masonic Lodge to discuss several items in relation to the future of the town.

The purpose of the meeting is to meet with community nonprofits, residents and other stakeholders to discuss how to implement and complete goals and directives outlined within the 2014 Comprehensive Plan.

A copy of the Comprehensive Plan can be obtained at the Churubusco Clerk’s Office or by emailing Madalyn at madalyn@townofchurubusco.com.

The meeting is open to the public.

The Masonic Lodge is located at 116 Home Avenue, Churubusco.

CHURUBUSCO — Churubusco United Methodist Church is having a Community Egg Hunt and Walk With Jesus on Saturday, March 31 at 10 a.m.

Prizes, activities and live animals will be available before the Egg Hunt as attendees walk through Jesus’ final days during Holy Week.

Stops along the way will include Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday. The egg hunt will be a celebration of new life as the children search for treats hidden in the eggs. The event will take place rain or shine. Families and children of all ages are welcome. Metzger named to Wheaton College Dean’s List

WHEATON, Ill. — Wheaton College student Margaret Metzger, of Churubusco, was named to the Dean’s List for the fall 2017 semester. To earn Dean’s List honors at Wheaton, an undergraduate student must carry 12 or more credit hours and achieve a 3.5 grade point average or higher on the 4.0 scale.
