Trophy shoot

CHURUBUSCO — The Ideal Fish and Game Club of Churubusco held its 55th annual Traveling Trophy Shoot Oct. 8.

The Lewis Cass Trap shoot provides all shooters a chance to place in the event with the top shooter winning the Traveling Trophy. The top shooter was George Klinger from Angola. Other winners in the event were:

• A-Class: Jake Addis, first place; Scott Gordon, second place; James Millikan, third place.

• B-Class: Gary Bowman, first place; Terry Hicks, second place; Tim Leazier, third place.

• C-Class: Mike Foote, first place; Ken Liggett, second place; Les Keener, third place.

• D-Class: Mike McGee, first place; Mike Haines, second place; Joe Macy, third place.

The Ideal Fish & Game Club thanks all the shooters and local businesses that donate to keep the yearly event possible.

Chamber seeks nominations

CHURUBUSCO — The Churubusco Chamber of Commerce is seeking nominations for the 2017 Business of the Year and 2017 Citizen of the Year.

Nominations must be submitted by Nov. 11 for Businesses and Nov. 3 for Citizens.

Citizen of the Year is based on the following criteria: Community service, commitment to excellence, creativity and innovation, and leadership.

Businesses of the year should be in good standing with the Chamber and have a strong commitment to the community
