Monk breaks school record

The Lady Eagles were led by Heather Monk as she broke her own school record with a throw of 117’ 8” in the discus and also took first in the shot put with a throw of 36’2”.  Rachel Fehring swept all distance events winning the 800 meter (2:40.0), 1600 meter (5:54.0) and the 3200 meter (13:43.8) for the Lady Eagles. 

Peyton Summers won the 100 meter dash with a time of 13.3 and took the long jump with a jump of 14’ 5”. In the pole vault Haleigh Gross took first with a 6’ 6” vault. The Lady Eagle 400 meter relay team finished in 55.5 to take first place.

The Churubusco boys team was on track in the dash events as they swept all of these races. Brian Trump’s 11.37 edged out Mathewson’s 11.38, by a hundredth of a second in the 100 meter. Mathewson took the 200 meter with a time of 23.53 and Dustin Arvola finished in 51.45 to take first in the 400 meter. Monk won the 110 hurdles in 16.3 seconds and Josh LeFever took first with a  time of 44.31 in the 300 hurdles. 

The Eagles were solid in the field events taking first place in all events. Skylar Greve won the shot put (40’ 5”) and discus (122’ 1”) and Zach Adams cleared 11’ to take the pole vault. In the high jump Kyle Monk jumped 6’ 1” and Kyle Mathewson went 18’ 4” to claim first place. 

Davon Geiger ran the 1600 meter in 4:59 for a first place finish. The 400 meter relay team beat the Northfield team by just over three seconds.
