COLUMBIA CITY — The Whitley County Master Gardeners heard a presentation from Bridget Johnson on growing, cultivating and using herbs at their April meeting.

The group had a “great” turnout, with several attendees from outside the Master Gardener Group.

Meetings are held on the first Thursday every month at Parkview Whitley Hospital, Classroom B in the basement. The public is invited to attend the educational meeting at 7 p.m.

The next meeting is May 3, and the educational speaker will be Virginia (Ginny) Faulkner from Ace Hardware. She will be talking about tools and products at the event, rather than plants. She will bring Scotts, Miracle Grow and Home Defense products that are brand new to the market, as well as some new power/hand tools to help make gardening easier this summer.

Faulkner will discuss Stihl, Scotts, Miracle Grow, Home Defense, Roundup and Garden Weasel.

The Master Gardeners are preparing for the June 23 Garden Walk. Tickets are available for purchase at the Purdue Extension Office.
