Martha Leitch

She was born on April 19, 1926 to John B. and Iva Mae (Coats) Clouse in Green Township. She married Carroll “Peck” V. Leitch in Albion on August 10, 1946. They were married for 63 years. Martha was a lifetime area resident. She retired from Dana in Churubusco after 26 years of service and was a dedicated homemaker.

She was a member of Stone’s Hill Community Church in Ligonier and also liked to cook, fish, hunt mushrooms and go to garage sales. Most of all, she loved her family.

Surviving are her husband, Carroll; one daughter; Nancy (Ed) White of Larwill; four sons, Norman (Marcia) Leitch of Kimmell, Russell (Colleen) Leitch of Kimmell, Tim (Helen) Leitch of Albion, Bruce (Helen) Leitch of Kimmell; 19 grandchildren, 40 great-grandchildren and a sister, Edith Romine, formerly of Churubusco, now of Kimmell.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Betty Clouse; seven brothers, Junior, Russell, James, Bernard, Harry, William and Donald Clouse.

A funeral service for Martha was held December 14 at Stone’s Hill Community Church with Pastor Joey Nelson and Thomas Carroll Leitch officiating.

Burial was in Merriam Christian Chapel in Merriam.
