Local volunteer honored at Big Brothers Big Sisters awards

For the past 10 years, Ball has mentored youth in Adams County; he has been matched with current Little Brother Austin since 2005. Thanks to Ball’s support, Austin has taken an active interest in school – especially his business classes, for which Ball has been an inspiration and a valuable resource. Ball has also been an important and influential advocate for Big Brothers Big Sisters’ mentor programming in Whitley County.

Big Brothers Big Sisters recently hosted its annual Volunteer Recognition Dinner to honor outstanding mentors across a thirteen-county service community.  Awards categories included “Big Brother of the Year,” “Big Sister of the Year,” “Big Couple of the Year,” “Lunch Buddy of the Year,” and “First Mentor of the Year.” Five volunteer mentors were nominated for each category.
