Junior guard Elijah Hales was recently named the most valuable player of Westview’s boys basketball team from this past season. Hales led the Warriors to a Class 2A semistate appearance, a program-record 28 wins and a Northeast Corner Conference regular season co-championship as well as regional, sectional and NECC Tournament titles.

All-Area honorable mentions announced

The honorable mentions to the KPC Media Group 40th annual All-Area Wrestling Team were Lakeland’s Brandon Bergman, East Noble’s Bodey Holbrook, Angola’s John Lanam and Garrett’s Drake Baker, Chandler Shearer and Andrew Wertman.

Westview announces award winners

EMMA — Westview’s boys basketball team recently celebrated its tremendous season and announced its season awar winners.

Junior point guard Elijah Hales was named the team’s most valuable player. He also received the assist and free-throw awards.

Charlie Yoder earned the rebounds and steals awards. Kenton Weaver and Jeremiah Hostetler shared the defensive honors. Nick Rensberger won the award for leading the team in field goal percentage.
