Lady Eagles putting things together in softball

Mariah Herendeen picked up the win on the mound for the Lady Eagles where she went six innings with six hits, one run (earned), three walks, and one strikeout. Brianne Burkhart pitched one inning giving up one walk.

On Thursday, the Lady Eagles were at Westview against the Lady Warriors. The Lady Eagles were victorious  by a score of 10-3. Leading the Lady Eagles in batting were, Gibson, Kelary Crabill, and Taylor Amber. Gibson went four for five with seven stolen bases. Crabill went two for four with two doubles and one RBI and Amber went three for five with two RBI’s. Herendeen went seven innings with eleven hits, three runs (two earned), and one walk.

On Saturday, the Lady Eagles traveled to Warsaw for the Warsaw Invite. They faced the host team Warsaw in the first game. Churubusco lost in a tough game 1-0. Offensively, Savannah Labenz and Gibson did well for the Eagles. Labenz went two for four with one double and Gibson went three for four.

Herendeen suffered the loss for the Eagles even though she gave her best performance for the year. She went seven innings giving up four hits, three walks, and no earned runs.

The Lady Eagles defeated Fort Wayne Concordia Lutheran 4-3 in the second game. Crabill went one for two with a double. Ashlie Shelton went one for two with a double and two RBI’s. Nichole Sells went one for three with one RBI and Blake went one for two with one RBI.

Herendeen got the win for the Lady Eagles, her third win for the week. She went seven innings with ten hits, three runs (one earned) and two walks.

The Lady Eagles travel to Heritage Wednesday, host Central Noble Thursday and will host New Haven on Saturday. The Sectionals start on Monday at Eastside. The Lady Eagles drew a bye and will play on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. with the Cham-pionship game to follow on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
