Fremont was in control from the start as they opened the game up 10-3. Churubusco had seven first quarter turnovers that led to nine Fremont points. Haleigh Gross hit a three-pointer and made another one the old fashioned way to lead Busco in the first quarter with six points. The score at the end of one period saw Fremont out in front 23-12.
In the second period the closest the Eagles came to Fremont was seven points, once in a basket by Heather Monk and later on a Taylor Amber basket. Again turnovers haunted the Lady Eagles as they committed ten more in the second quarter, with Fremont converting them into points to give them a 38-21 lead into the half.
In the second half the host Eagles outscored Churubusco to take the game 54-32.

Saturday the Eagles came out on fire as they went on a 14-0 run to begin the game. Led by their seniors Taylor Amber and Alysa Holloway each scored six in the opening quarter and each had 16 points for the contest. The Eagles forced 11 first quarter turnovers, that led to eight of their points and a 20-6 advantage at the end of the period. The Eagles led by as much as 18 in the second quarter, but Hamilton was able to cut the lead to eight in the third period, on ten Churubusco turnovers. The final period was all Busco as they put it to the Marines 22-6 to collect the team’s third win of the season, 66-40, giving them a 3-10 record.

The Lady Eagles enter the conference tourney, waiting on the outcome of the Prairie Heights and Fairfield winner. They will play Leo at home in the Varsity boys and girls double-header next Tuesday.
