The Falcons ran off nine straight and a late free throw by Amber made the score 9-4 Fairfield after one quarter of play. The Falcons took advantage of the Lady Eagles’ 16 first half turnovers and converted them into 17 Falcon points. Fairfield controlled the boards as well as they out rebounded Churubusco 36-19 on the night. With just under five minutes left in the half Fairfield went on a 12-2 run to finish the first half, giving them a 25-10 lead at the break.
The Lady Eagles fought back in the third period, but still couldn’t dent the Falcon lead. In the final quarter Busco managed only three points all on free throws.
Eagles scoring leaders were Amber with nine, Gross with six, Alysa Holloway four and Nichole Wormcastle with two.
The Lady Eagles return to action Friday night at Angola in a girls/boys double header beginning at 6:00 p.m.
