Lady Eagles beat Panthers

LAGRANGE– Churubusco’s softball team defeated Prairie Heights 7-3 last week.

Prairie Heights led first, 1-0, in the third inning. Churubusco answered in the fourth inning with a pair of runs. The Lady Eagles scored a run in the sixth inning and four more in the seventh. The Panthers scored two in the seventh inning, but came short of a comeback.

Carlee Koldyke got the win on the mound with seven strikeouts. Sophomore Abigail Erwin led the Lady Eagles at bat going 3 for 4, scoring three runs and two RBIs. Freshman Madison Simmons went 2 of 4, scored two hits and had four RBIs.

Westview 6, Churubusco 4

CHURUBUSCO – The Churubusco softball team dropped a game to Westview in extra innings, 6-4.

Westview scored in the first inning and added another in the second inning for an early 2-0 lead. Churubusco scored three runs in the fifth inning for the lead. Westview scored a run in the sixth inning to tie the game and force extra innings.

Both teams scored a run in the ninth inning, but Westview scored a pair of runs in the 10th inning to put the game away.

Abigail Erwin led Churubusco going 3 for 5 at the plate, scoring a run and recording two RBIs.
